About Bonnie

Bonnie graduated from The Maui School of Therapeutic Massage and received her massage license in California in 2017, and has been practicing full-time ever since.  Working alongside Dr. Kehoe in a chiropractic office in Carmel, CA, numerous spas in Monterey County, including the The Post Ranch Inn; she has cultivated a wide range of experience, working on many types of bodies, conditions, injuries over the years, supporting her to hone and refine her vast bodywork modality training.

 

During her foundational years as a massage therapist she began growing her private practice on the side.  She now primarily services her personal client-base in the comfort of their own homes, believing it to be best for her clients to receive a massage and then not have to drive, allowing more time for relaxation, integration and healing. Office space in Carmel Valley and Monterey are available upon request.

She has accumulated over 2000 hours of professional training with specialized training in Hawaiian LomiLomi, Myofascial Release, Postural Assessment and Asian Bodywork. With continued educational certificates in Thai Yoga Massage, Breema and Osteopathic Manipulation techniques from the Barral and Upledger Institutes; CranioSacral level two, Neuromeningeal, and Visceral Manipulation Therapy.

 

Shortly after graduating from massage school she embarked on full-time studies in premed, desiring a masters degree as a Physician's Assistant in Osteopathic Medicine.  

She became an anatomy nerd, knowing her continued higher level training would advance her practice and gift her more capabilities to help and heal people with her hands. During her premed courses, she was fortunate to enroll in the independent cadaver lab research program at Monterey Peninsula College, becoming the Anatomy teacher's assistant. This unique opportunity to receive hands on anatomy training took her palpation training and skills to a deeper level of understanding of tissue and structural integration. She developed, as she calls it, high level x-ray vision with her hands. Long story short...after a year of premed, she decided the Western educational route was not her career path.  She is currently enrolled in the Herbal Academy.    

 

She is a 500 hour Yoga Works Certified Teacher with a dance and theatre degree from UC, Irvine.  She began taking yoga classes in 2000, received her 200hr yoga certification in 2007 and her 300hr certification in Bali in 2019.  She has 16 years of teaching experience, from guiding children, teens and adult yoga classes, in various yoga studios and one on one private lessons.  She enjoys teaching Hatha & Vinyasa Flow, Restorative, from beginners to advanced yogis. At this time in her teaching career she is focusing on developing one on one relationships with her students, supporting them to develop their own daily home practice. She is now available for private, group and yoga retreat hiring.  

 

She has experienced over 5000 hrs of Vipassana Meditation training, as taught by S.N. Goenka, with 7 years of daily practice, totaling 40 plus  (she honestly lost count) 10-day silent meditation retreats. With a combined sitting, serving and managing the courses in the Central and Northern California Vipassana Meditation Centers, between 2007 and 2014. This chapter of her life was deeply significant, allowing her gain profound insight into the nature of mind-body healing, mindfulness and spiritual development.

Before receiving her massage training she lived and worked full-time at Esalen Institute in Big Sur, CA as a preschool teacher, diving into the world of Gestalt Therapy and Non-Violent Communication, as well as land stewardship and movement dance therapy.

 

She currently resides in Santa Cruz mountains, working as a private massage therapist, yoga teacher, jewelry designer of Beautiful Jean Feathers, since 2008, as well as growing her new apothecary company, which she began during the pandemic in 2019.  Her company is called Earth Cura Apothecary, making over 40 small batch products yearly, including an organic skincare line, herbal remedies and wellness support, first aid, essential oil perfumes and her number one product, Elemental Healing Candles.
